I know, they should not be weaned until they´re eating and fecating on themselves and I will wait until I see them do both. However I wondered where to put the new cage. Is it a good Idea to place it right next to their parents´ so they will see them but cannot reach them ?? Maybe place it in another room? Any experiences/opinions on that ??? You can do either. I prefer to put them into another room for a few days, just long enough for the parents scent to wear off of them, three or four days usually does the trick. That way when the babies cry for their parents which they sometimes do, it is less stressful on the parents. They usually do not recognize the babies as theirs.
