Denis, I separated my 6-8 week oop joeys from their parents as they were eating on their own and my female has 2 more joeys in the pouch. I DID place their cages right next to eachother and there was no crying for momma, in fact they don't even seem to notice eachother.

My joeys are off to their new home this weekend, and it was important for me that they be separated from their parents so that the stress of moving would not be compounded with the stress of being 'alone' without mom and dad. I will have to say, that for my first joeys leaving home, I am SO pleased they are going together and not alone to separate homes and that they are completely accustomed to being away from their parents already.
