Betsy,

I got my recipe from my vet who got it from a colleague who studied gliders
in Aus. for a year. According to the sheet I was given, it is also the Taronga Zoo diet.
But, I only do Half of the recipe given. So, I end up using 1 and one half hard boiled eggs, not much more than
you. But, my measurement come up to about what you have. The recipe I got was in millileters and such, so I had
to convert it on my calculator, so I came up with ounces. Basically I have 8 oz water and honey, 1 1/2 egg, 3 oz baby cereal, and 1 1/2 tsp of Vionate.
I was wondering, why use a canine supplement? Everything I have seen says to use reptile stuff or small mammal stuff.

: : Oh geez! My bad! I read what I wrote and it seems I should proofread from now on.
: : You are so right. It does require boiled eggs. 3 for a whole batch and 1 1/2 for a half batch.
: : Thanks for pointing this out. I hope that I didn't poison anyone's gliders. But, I still feel it
: : is the nastiest stuff I have ever made!

: Tara ,
: Sorry, I tried to email you but you didn't post your email address on your message. Where did you get your recipe for leadbeaters?
: I think 3 eggs are alot even for a double batch. Maybe you use small eggs? I use 1 large boiled egg in a single batch and two large boiled eggs in a double batch.
: Here is my modified Leadbeaters recipe
: Taronga Zoo Glider Diet -
:
: Modified Leadbeaters Mix
:
: Apple Juice: 1/2 cup
: Honey: 1/2 cup
: Shelled boiled egg: 1
: High-Protein baby cereal: 1/2 cup
: Linatone (Canine Vitamin supplement): 2 teaspoons
: Wheat Germ: 1/4 cup
:
: Dump everything in a blender and puree until lump free. I pour it into an
: airtight plastic container and freeze it, so it won't spoil before it's all
: used. It freezes to about the consistency of ice cream, so it's easy to
: scoop out a serving of it each night.
:
:
: (My Version)
: 1 (4 oz) bottle Gerber Mixed Fruit Juice w/yogurt (& added calcium)
: 1/2 cup honey
: 1 egg, scrambled or boiled w/shell
: 1/2 cup baby cereal
: 2 teaspoons RepCal
: 1/4 cup wheat germ
: 1 (2 1/2 oz) jar of (stage 2) Heinz chicken baby food
:
: Mix well in blender. Freeze in Tupperware bowl. Thaw 1 tablespoon per
: glider each night. Also feed veggies and fruit every night.
:
: This will feed two sugar gliders for approximately 1 month.
:
: Is this similar to the recipe that you have?
