I have one (soon to be two) gliders and one cat. In my personal situation I do not let my glider and my cat get too close to each other unless both are being held. The reason for that is because my cat is so hyperactive that I get fearful she will pounce my glider and try to play too rough with him. I do not fear she would eat him, just play too rough. However, they do get nose to nose through his cage bars and seem really infatuated with each other.
I will tell you though that there are MANY glider owners who do have cats and the gliders can ride around on their cats backs and not get injured. They are like playmates Same with a lot of owners who own dogs.
I think the best thing is to look at the peersonalities of both your glider and your cat. Do you think they would be okay with each other? If you do, try letting them get close to each other by holding your glider and having someone else hold your cat.
Others here may have some better advise for you on this subject, but that's what I'd suggest. Just look at the personalities of both animals and make a decision upon that.
