Sometimes rules are there for a reason. Gliders would be able to survive in California. Bringing in a new species to a state dependant on its produce is disrespectful and wilful. Sometimes it is just wrong to have a particular animal in a particular state. Can everyone swear noone will lose one or let them loose. If not we should leave well alone and stop trying to interfere in well meaning laws.
: If you really want a glider join the efforts to make them legal. Write letters to congress and senators. Sadly, people still get gliders even when it's illegal and encouraging governments to legalize them enables vets to provide services for them. You need to gather some info on how safe they are and get as many people involved as possible. E-mail me and I'll support you. I don't live in California, so I don't think my letters would help you.

: : California is very strict about this, they will put down any they find. and you would not be able to find a vet that would not be obligated to report you. IT is NOT worth it.
