Jasper my male joey and Buster, his father, are the same way when it comes to their pouch. But once he is out he is fine. Anyway, I found a bonding pouch (that could also be put the cage if i deem necessary) that works really well to get them to come out without stressing them too much. cynthia sells them. They have a pull out lining that is not removable though. You just slowly pull the lining out and *poof* there is the glider out of the pouch he is soooo territorial of!!!
