No it wasn't because of the mastitus, I have discussed this to a large extent with Jane and Maria both, I think the diet I feed Baybe is just fine, but with her haveing these litters a little too close (for my liking), I really didn't want to take any chances, the last litter I uped her proteins and calcium as you know for the same reason, I was told this would be a good time to try it out on her, since she wanted nothing to do with them before, and with her being with the joeys, I want her to have anything that is heathy for her. I haven't taken her out as much lately because of the weather, so I figured it would be a treat.. To be honest , they are not so much cost effective as it is something that she would eat in the wild, and I am not above trying something I knOW is healthy for her, in order to add a little variety to her diet..and uggghhh she loved it..so it looks like she may get them again, next time she will get them frozen though.. I know you can see me shuddering too.. LOL
