: I was wondering what kind of toys people give to their sugar gliders. I know that my glider sometimes will play with string or something like a cat, but I wanted to know if things like bird toys are to dangerous because of the string.
: If anyone knows of any kind of toy that their glider really likes please tell me. I also know that there is a glider wheel but I was thinking more along the lines of a cat toy or something. Thanks for your help. Matt
: P.S. I was also wondering if there was anyone else in Maryland that owns a glider or two or three, just curious.

i live in maryland too....
as for toys...
i have a wodent wheel, branches of varying thickness, a thick piece of rope suspended from the top of the cage to the bottom, and a parrot toy hanging from the top...it has rope that is tied in knots, with pieces of tree bark that rest on the knots...he loves that toy, and will climb all over it, especially when he gets frightened...
when he is out, he mostly likes to play with me...especially my hands..he will thumb wrestle for awhile, and then it is time for me to scratch and rub him all over (which he *loves*) and then he grooms my hand for me...licking and nibbling and rubbing it with his "hands" until he thinks i'm clean....and it is very serious buisiness for him...he will do this sometimes for half an hour or more....and when he's finished with that, it's up to the top of my head, where he will rearrange and change my hairstyle to suit him. :)
well, hope this helps,
Bell
