hello kris. i have a sugar glider and a cockatiel. i don't recomend you getting a sugar glider, or any other exotic pet for that matter, any time in the future. cockatiels are wonderful pets and with the proper handeling and training won't go to the bathroom on everything and can be cuddley, sweet, and very fun to play with. . i suggest you work on taking proper care of the animals you do have instead of damning another creature into living a miserable life stuck inside of a cage. : : : Hello, : My name is Kris and I have 3 sugar gliders and one is having two babies due next month. You have probably already heard that every sugar glider has its own personality. It all depends on how much attention you give it. Let me start off by saying I don't recommend you getting one because of the fact that you have a cat. I know you would do your best to keep it away from the sugar glider but you can't watch it all the time. Sugar gliders are very sneaky and can get away from you if you take your eyes off it for a second. I also don't recommend getting one because in order for you to get a godd sugar glider you must give it your full love and care. If you try to split you attention between a cat and a sugar glider....your sugar glider will not like you and may even in fact be outright mean. yes it hurts when they bite. I just want to say that I have had my sugar gliders for a few years now I don't recommend them for someone like you. Thanx! : kris : P.S. If you decide to get a sugar glider just remember these major details. First, they are nocturnal so they won't wake up until about 12:00 in the morning. If you want to play with them you must wait up for them. I have tried to change my sugar gliders' sleeping times but it doesn't work. Secondly, since they are nocturnal remember to get them a very big cage. Probably something like you have your bird in. They need lots of room to jump and play at night while you sleep. So if you do get a sugar glider please don't neglect it's needs!!!!!
