: : : : I have a male and female Sugarglider, the female is what I would call "normal" size but my male is like atleast twice her size, and she is has a joey in the pouch. I believe him to be waaay overweight. I am feeding him the recomended diet the same as the female. I am curious do I need to put him on a "exercise" program ....lol. I don't think I should seperate them, but I don't know what to do. I don't know if it is healthy for him to be as big as he is. I am open to any suggestions or ideas you might have. Thank you, David

: : : What diet do you have them on? Do you have a "Wodent Wheel" for them?

: : how much does he weigh. i haven't weighed mine in a while but it's easy. get a food scale, weigh his pouch, then weigh the pouch with him in it. should be about 133 grams or 4 1/2 ounces. he may just be a muscular little guy, they weigh more than the ladies.
: : and yes he should be on a exercise program anyway, get a wheel, i make sure my male gets exercise by using hamster ball also, then i know he got some joints moving!!!

: I have a Hampster ball that has an attachment to it that suspend it in air, and also leaves the lid open so it acts like a wheel. Occasionally they go in it. When I use it as the regular ball, I put him in it and he just curls up and goes to sleep ....lol

mine curl up in their balls also when i have the bright lights on, when i dim the lights they go to town. tape the lid on the ball though, mine popped off twice, and lucy came nose to nose with my shitz-su once. they both froze like statues, her from fear(?) him cos he couldn't believe his luck. I'll bet when you weigh your guy he's in normal weight range unless you're feeding him to many treats or yucky food.
