I am so sorry and I know totally how guilty you feel. Just be somewhat consoled by the fact that eventhough his life was short, it was so totally filled with love. My first glider, Charlie, was so totally bonded to me that he was rarely caged. About the only place I can think of that he didn't go was to church, and I thought about that. Yes, he even went on vacation to Destin, Fl. Charlie's habit at night was to play in the bedroom until he got tired and then crawl up around my neck and go to sleep. One night he somehow got under me and I must have rolled over on him. You could tell he didn't even struggle, but I was a total basket case the next day at work. My boss finally sent me home because I couldn't stop crying. I felt so guilty. If only I had made him stay in a cage at night. I have learned my lesson the hard way. None of my gliders are out of the cage at night now. My cat did the same thing to me one time, but I fell on the stairs and broke my tailbone. Sometimes you just want to say those darn cats!!!!
