The reason we prefer calcium supplements without phosphorus is that many of the foods we feed our sugar gliders are low in calcium but adequate in phosphorus. If you then supplement with a Ca & P supplement then you won't correct the imbalance. For example, mealworms contain about 1 calcium to 13 phosphorus (1:13 Ca:P ratio) and crickets are 1:9. So to correct this dust the mealworms and crickets with a calcium powder that doesn't contain phosphorus (i just put a small amount of powder with the insects in a ziplock bag and shake). Also you can "gut load" the insects by feeding them a high Ca diet before feeding them to your sugar glider (Ziegler make a diet high in Ca especially for crickets and mealworms). hope this helps, geoff
