I felt the same way you do when I lost my first glider (Charlie) through a freak accident which I've already told you about.
The mistake I made was assuming that all gliders have basicly the same personality. I got another one about two weeks after losing Charlie. His personality was totally different from Charlie and to make a long story short, I now have four gliders, but none of them have ever bonded with me the way that Charlie did.
Sometimes I think there are just certain pets that come into our lives who are really special and no matter what you do,that place in your heart will always belong only to that special pet.
