Welcome and I hope you really enjoy your new baby. They are wonderful companions.
As far as the gliding. What I did with my gliders was to sit them on the top of their cage which is a little higher than my head and hold my hands out in front of them and then I would call their name. I would keep my hands fairly close to them at first until they were comfortable "gliding to my hands. When mine are loose in the house they actually do more climbing than gliding. Unless I hold my hands out they pretty much just climb the ficus trees, curtains, chairs, couch - I think you get the picture.
