I've thought about filing too, but it's like trying to hold down a lighning bolt! I personally swab my hands w/rubbing alcohol afterwards (yes, it stings a lot) and then cover my hands w/ bag balm. It's some great stuff! It's also great if any pet gets a minor scrape or bump, because it's really mild.
