I will email you... but to answer your question.. The sometimes heated arguments you find here, are also on Sugarglider.net as well as Acme Glider Board, as well as any other board.. the reasoning behind it is. that Gliders are fairly new to the states and there is so little known about them, it will take many more years, and researchers to know even the simple basics..hence the controversies.. As I have said earlier, something as simple as the diet is still controversial, and we have to rely on diets that have been proven to work. And that is not to say that those diets won't be obsolete later on when we find out more. The more studies, and research that is done, sorry to say and more deaths that people send their gliders in for necropsy's, we are finding out more and more. NO ONE knows everything.. not yet, and it will be a long time before someone does.. Right now the knowledge that is out there is based on experience, those with more experience with with many gliders, have seen more than lets say a 6 month new owner who has only had to deal with their own. All the research in the world can't compared to holding a frail little glider in your hands as you are trying with everything you have to get it to live, as many of us have done.. Maria Has done it with her first rejected joey, CandiMI has done it to save her little ones as well, Elwin, with his many rescues.. When a woman emailed me a while back she told me of how her glider had gotten it's toenail stuck in a slit of a RAT ball, bigger than the hamster ball, by the time she got to the ball, the glider had already broken it's leg, and she was trying so very hard, to get it's claw loose the whole time with the glider itself fighting to get free with an already broken leg.. Will I try my hardest to keep another glider from suffering so? Of course I would, I couldn't live with myself, or sleep at night, knowing I didn't do everything in my power to stop it from happening again. Any subject, that has people that belive strongly in the species, you will have heat. but to learn from that heat is probably the most important thing anyone could do. On my page, I had to start a buy and sell board, not for those that wish to get rid of their gliders, but for me as well. It was put up to keep a lot of the posts down, of people getting rid of gliders for the most stupid reasons. People ask WHY?? and the responses many times started heated arguments in itself.. they are not disposable, I have someone who is a USDA breeder moderating the board, he has the resouces to the rescue people as well. He keeps it up for us, I don't have the heart to go there.. therefore, I couldn't moderate it... On my private bases, I delete any buys and sells, and they are redirected to the other board..This base is not unique to the heated discussions, it is one of the few that still allow attitude with conditions as stated below..
