6 weeks old is a tad too young to be sold, 8 weeks or older is the best. Cat food has been known to cause intestinal blockage in gliders. My way of putting this(as Bourbon once said) cat food is for cats, hedgehog food is for hedgehogs, bird food is for birds. Now with that said, leadbeaters you have to make but I think its worth it since its a proven diet and used by many many people. I think you will be putting your mind at ease by using leadbeaters since you will know exactly what the gliders are eating and how much...nothing more and nothing less. You wont have to worry about feeding too much calcium and harming them with too much or too little. Here's the page with the diets.
