: My Sugar Glider doesn't come out of his box unless there is no one around. When someone tries to take him out he bites. Is there anyway to relieve the tension he has? What should I do to keep him from biting?

my little guy was like that for months, peeking out to see if i was around and poking back in if i was. i took his pouch out everyday when i got home and put my hand in under his belly and let him sleep on it for a while, then took him into the bathroom and got in the tub(without water, it was easy to keep him from getting away from me in here) with him and let him run over me till he got used to me. now he only bites if i'm preventing him from doing something he wants to do, like crawling on my bookshelf and peeing on my bible. I also got him a girlfriend so he wouldn't be so lonely, and she is much sweeter than him but i give them equal time when i play with them. he breaks my heart cos my daughter abused him for 8 months, neglecting him, that's why i've spent so much time reestablishing trust with him. I know i'm still going to be here 14 years from now and with time he'll know i'm his friend.
