I'd suggest an annual check up as a minimum. At the annual examination, I would suggest a physical examination, x-rays, blood tests, and fecal examination. This is best done with the sugar glider under anesthesia. While this may cost a bit, it may also save your sugar glider's life if disease is found early. Also it gives your vet a set of normal values so that if your sugar glider gets sick in the future, they can comapre abnormal blood results, abnormal x-rays, abnormal feces to previous normal results.
