:Gizmo's test for the bacteria came back negative. He is feeling much better, eating habits are back to normal, and he's acting normal again. We have 5 more days of antibiotics and then he goes back to the vet to make sure the infection is all gone. Hopefully it will be! You said sometimes the amoxicillin doesn't work, do you know what they do if it doesn't? Thanks

:For bladder infections, it is best to get both urinalysis and a urine culture performed. This enable the best antibiotic to be used. Amoxicillin (correct spelling :)) is appropariate in the majority of cases, but won't treat them all. Pyometra (correct spelling :)) is not a common problem in sugar gliders. In other species the animals usually drink a lot with this problem. Spaying the animal will prevent pyometra. Also Salmonella (corect spelling :)) is a gram negative organism that will cause a nasty gastroenteritis. It has not been commonly reported in sugar gliders.
