Hmmm... If he is laying on the lil guy - then I think it might be one of two things.
1) He is trying to show who is dominant (like with dogs, etc)
2) or its his way of bonding.
If the lil guy doesn't have a problem with it then you should be just fine.

As far as how much to feed, just make sure that there is a minimal amount remaining in the morning when you pick up the dishes. Maybe keep an eye on the lil ones weight and his activity. There isn't really anyway of keeping the other from eating too much unless you can seperate them or get the lil one up and feed him yourself..
