: Hi there! I just got a brand new 6 weekold female sugar glider yesterday. She seems to be doing ok but I have alot of questions. My husband says he heard/read somewhere that we should put a heat rock or lamp in the cage. She does shiver alot but i cant tell if she is cold or scared.

I got my first glider almost three years ago,he was 8 weeks oop. 6 weeks seems a little young to be taken from mom, but if she is eating good she should be just fine. there is really no need for a heat rock or lamp. I keep their room temperature between 78-80 degrees. I think that she is probably just scared being in a new place. Just give her a little time to adjust and then start the bonding process.

I cant find that information anywhere - so I am asking your advise. Also, the shop where I bought her from says to feed her the glideraid just for a few more weeks - but everything else I read says that it should be incuded in her diet always. I have a book and looked stuff up on the internet all night last night, but i am still unsure of what to do...

they love nectar, I give my gliders gliderade twice a week then leadbeaters mix the rest of the time. Also fruits, veggies and protein. Mine especially love crickets. Good Luck with your little one.

: I am sure I will have alot of questions in the next few days/weeks and appreciate your answers.

: Thanks
