Thanks alot everyone. I feel very relieved now that I know the leadbeaters is okay for now. Thank god she eats it. I am going to try to give her the same foods for a few days at a time to see of she really doesn't like them or if she's just picky that day. I knew they were picky eaters but I thought it would take a long time before I could try the food again and get her to eat it. Yes, she does eat the baby food off my fingers but after awhile she doesn't want it anymore...I figure she's full. She's been kindof licking the fruits and veggies but I'm not sure if it's just cuz they are wet from rinsing them or if she really wants to eat them and can't. The breeder fed her apples and baby food. I thought maybe she'd need a littlt variety. I am thinking about getting a friend for her. I just love her so much I really eant another one. But the only problem is that when I had ferrets I got 2 so that they would never get bored but then they never bonded with me only each other and I don't want that to happen with my sugar gliders. But if she starts to seem lonely( which I don't see how she could since she's with me all the time) I would get her a friend. But thanks again...all good suggestions I am going to try. Also thank you fo rmaking me feel better about this. I'll keep everyone posted on our progress. Thanks again. Love April and Giz : : : Hi, : : I am having so much trouble getting my sugar glider to eat. I know that they are picky eaters but this is really bad. Luvkily she loves the leadbeaters and eats almost a whole teaspoon a day but that's all I can get her to eat. She also likes the Pretty Pets suagr glider food but hardly eats it. Just like one or two peices a day and they are very small. : : Here's a list of what I've tried... : : apples, carrots, chicken, mealworms, bananas, peaches, mango, kiwi, cantelope(she eats this a little but only if I hand it to her and keep handing it to her, eventually she won't even take it from me anymore, and this is just one peice), grapes, peas, corn, green beans, lettuce, baby food apple sauce, baby food chicken with veggies, baby food mixed veggies, baby food sweet potatoes, baby food carrots. : : I've tried everything I've heard and nothing is working. She is 2 1/2 months opp and is eating on her own, at least that's what the breeder told me. I am worried that she isn't getting enough fruits and veggies and protien. She seems fine, not very playful but it's only been 2 weeks and she's still a baby too. She seems to like me, she's out with me alot and she doesn't crab when I pick her up anymore. Her just crawls in my shirt or my pocket or even just mu hand and just goes back to sleep. She can walk around fine and she has a very roomy cage. She doesn't seem sad at all. I'm not sure what's going on here. I just don't wany her to get sick so if anyone has advice please help. Thank you so much for reading the long post and I really appreciate any help anyone can give me. : : Thanks again, April
: if you've only had her 2 weeks she still may be trying to get used to you and missing her family. plus you've tried lots of foods in just two weeks, this doesn't doesn't seem like it would give you time to see if she likes something, they may eat something one night and not the next and then reverse again. does she lick any of the baby foods off your fingers. alex will lick them off my fingers but barely touches them in the dish. plus if she eats a tsp of leadbetters that sounds good for a baby, they shouldn't eat as much as an adult, (did you?). Mine love (sometimes it's left in their cage though) the baby food mixed fruit and yogurt and bananas and yogurt and i mix a little sweet potatoes in it (just marble it, don't completely blend it)
