I have never had a problem with taking a bonded sg outside. They always know mom, and aren't about to hop into that scary world! However, if your not certain about how well behaved your baby is, try taking him/her out in a zippered (breathable, of course), pouch or pocket. I take my babies with me EVERYWHERE, and boy do they attract attention!
However, on the leash issue, I've tried once, and my boys would have no part in it! As soon as I got them in, they were out. I figured it wasn't really worth trying again. No guarantees, but I've never heard of a bonded glider hopping off into the wild blue yonder!
