Give the mom a little more time. If she is a first time mom then she will be a little more protective of her babies. Also, you didn't mention the oop of the joeys. Don't take a chance of her rejecting them because you want to handle them early making bonding easier. I have made that mistake.

I know they are irresistible when they are just oop, but hold off if you can until mom is comfortable. Once they are a little more independent, she will let you hold them for longer periods without fussing so she can have a break.
