I don't know about everyone else, but my SG would not glide without a little encouragement. Mine like yours, were just content to hang around on me. Why bother going anyplace else. Everything they needed was right there. Anyway, I would put mine on something a little taller than my head or about the same height and stand back just a little distance.
Not across the room or anything like that, just a short distance. Then I would hold out my hands and call their name. Before I knew it they would glide to me every chance they got.
The down side of course is that they figure out they don't need "mom" to glide. Mine, however, don't glide every time they are out of their cage. I guess sometimes they would just rather climb and run.
