I agree with Elwin, resist the urge until the eyes are open if at all possible. The longer you can wait, the better chance the joey will have of survival. I am speaking from experience. You don't want to take a chance that the mother will reject the handled joey for any reason.
I don't know if she is a first time mom, but it's likely this may be her only joey.
I know it's almost too much to resist holding them, but wait as long as you can. It is better for mom and joey.
