Actually, age is not the main determining factor. Yes you shouldnt even be thinking of weaning until 6 weeks but then you can start to observe your baby. When the baby is asserting itself around the cage eating on its own pooping and weeing and drinking easily then I would give it another week and call the baby weaned. Always wait until you feel happy about the baby being on its own and if you have any doubts then don't. It is easy to just wait a few more days and feel happy about it and it is never worth worrying about. Your heart and common sense should be the major things you examine.
: A joey should begin weaning at 6 weeks oop. You should never buy a joey before 8 weeks oop.
