No they don't like to "stay" in pockets. I mean shirt front pockets. Mine like to stay with me in my lefthand shirt pocket (you have to shop for shirts with pockets on the front, hahaha) for several hours at a time. They get my scent and can also hear my heartbeat. I don't leave them in there for extended periods, because I like to give them rest periods in their bed during the day.
