: hi! im pleased to announce that i have added a 2mo old female sugar glider to my family!! i would love any input anyone may have on how to make her feel more at home, and what i can do to make her feel more like one of the family. shes not real tame right now, and i have to use gloves to handle her, which she doesnt make very easy! i refuse to give up, but i dont want to harm her in any way or hinder our progress. would love some input! thanks.. kelli

Is this your first sugar glider? The gloves is a major no no. Never use gloves with a sugar glider. If she is biting a lot then she possibly hasnt been handled enough in the past. You need to stop the bad habbits now and start building trust with her immediatly. Deffinitly read Bourbons bonding page..it will help you more than anything else. Gliders depend upon their smell for most everything. She has to get used to your smell ebfore she will trust you. She can not smell you throuigh the gloves. As long as you use them she will never get used to you. Please stop wearing the gloves and take the bite.
