First you have to ask yourself "Why do you want a glider" and if your response is that you think they are cute and cuddley that may be true. But what if the one you get is not cuddlely? The bonding process sometimes is very long and painful. When someone gets a new glider for the first time, they want to hold it and hope that it wants them as much as the person wanted the glider. You think that maybe you might want to get rid of it when the newness wears off. That in itself should tell you that maybe right now may not be the time for you. I would suggest waiting and doing much more research on them. Have you read yet that some gliders bite so hard that they draw blood? Are you prepared in case that happens? At first Many Gliders are very, very crabby. To bond with a glider requires a lot of time love, patience and perservence. It means spending alot of time with it. If you read the past post there are very good posts that people have written that would give you a general idea what to expect from your glider. I made a post asking how teens flexed their busy schedules to their glider. You will see there are a few, Many times someone sees a glider that is already bonded, when they are at the cute and cuddley stage, buit what went into getting that glider to that point? some people NEVER bond with theirs. I have heard new glider owners call their gliders everything from possessd to demonic and I have also seen many people decide that maybe a glider wasn't for them after they got it. only to be passed on to another. Gliders are a very different kind of pet. They require interaction and attention and at times may demand it. If not given the attention they may fall into a deep depression and die or rebel and become very mean. Please I cannot stress this enough read EVERY post including the archives you will be able to decide for yourself if a glider is for you. Read each of them thinking your glider is the one the post is about. Someday it may be. There are very good things about owning a glider but you have to ask yourself if you feel you are ready for the not so good as well. Good luck..
