Kaylea, Bourbon's reply to you is a good one. She forgot to mention that a glider can live 14-15 years. They need gobs more attention than they other animals you were considering. Also, they bond to their owner completely. In the wild they live in colonies. In captivity you would be their whole colony. If you decided to give it away or sell it - the trauma could be terrific for the glider. I think I understand where you are coming from with wanting a pet of your own to snuggle with. It is not an unreasonable desire. I have a sweet 3 1/2 month old glider that I am bonding with right now. No matter how much I wish she would come snuggle with me - she will skipperdee all over the room or office until SHE decides she wants to snuggle with me. You cannot make a sugar glider do what it doesn't want to do. You cannot "hold" a sugar glider. As Bourbon suggested - you need to read everything you can lay your eyes on about gliders, talk to other owners. You sound like a very loving person. I am sure that you would not intentionally hurt anyone or anything. So do your research and decide if you can make time for a little fluff ball that will want to be with you, on you, for the next say - 10- 15 years. Best of luck to you. Betsycc
