I too need to remind you of the dangers of the socks, but it is more because of the loops being big enough for them to get their nails caught in, if coco hasn't yet you are lucky, but please, at least heed the warning.. Okay as far as coco being real active, some gliders are much more docile than others, you must accept each glider and their own indiviual personality. she has no problem playing on you if my memory serves me right, so again don't worry, what you can try though, is to turn the lights out with only moonlight or a nightlight shining. when a gklider doesn't venture at night, we have found many times it is because there is activity going on, especially with the docile (shy ones), either the tv, radio, a light or even the pecking of a keyboard..try to simulate as much of the wild as possible, with a very low light, we have used the 25 watt bug lights in a small lamp accross the room, enough to cause a small glow on the cage. She must be venturing out or they wouldn't be eating..maybe another animal has it afraid, whether by sight, sound or smell. even movement in another room..
