First off, welcome! You have found a wonderful site with fantastic people whom (most of the time) have worthy advise. Male or female? Males scent mark and tend to smell a little more than females. But both are wonderful. You can have him neutered and descented - I don't know much about either. If you are interested in a male ask around about that. 1 or 2? How much time you have to spend with the lil guy? Atleast 2 full "awake" hours? During the bonding process it has been found that carring your glider during the day while it sleeps is crutial. And then during the "awake" time (normally between 10 pm and 7 am) you have to spend about 2 hours atleast. If you find that some days you don't have time to spend with them - you will need to get two. It is up to you. If 2, will they bond w/out you? Well, it is possible, but only if you don't spend the right amount of time with them. They are social creatures that will like to bond with you.. I would suggest getting 1 just to start with. After you bond and feel comfortable - maybe get the other one. If you are not wanting to breed (and if you are not seriously looking into it - don't!) get two of the same sex. Then you don't have to pay to have them neutered or spayed. Important questions for you.. Do you have a Vet close by that is Glider Qualified? Do you have a diet plan made out including calcium supplement, fresh veggies and fruits, & Leadbeaters mix? Do you plan on keeping and caring for your glider(s) for atleast 15 years? What backup plan do you have incase of vacations, holidays, emergencies, etc when you have to leave your glider? These are just a few important questions you need to ask yourself. Please visit Bourbon's glider page (link is below). Hope this helps! Jen L
