: it's been about a month since my gliders baby opened her eyes. now the books say to take her away at this time to wean her....but i've talked to people and have gotten mixed opinions.
: some say to let her do it herself... others say to seperate...what is the best way to do it since the baby hasnt ventured outside of the pouch(not mother's pouch...their sleeping bag)

You need to throw that book away. This joey is just barely old enough to start handling. The joey is no where near ready to leave its parents. Hand weaning will not make a joey a better pet. It simply gives you a joey who has no idea how to be a glider. Gliders teach their joeys how to jump and glide, what to eat, how to socialize.

Leave the baby with its parents until you see it eating and pooping on its own.
