you know those plastic ties that tighten up, but cannot un-tighten? Those are what i use. they can be cut off only. they are cheap too, so you can use a few. wish i could describe them better or remember their name. they are white plastic.

you dont have to cut them off to remove the wheel, simply leave the metal bar in the cage and take the wheel out only.
