I think you may have meant necrosis (if that is how "nécrose" translates in English). Necrosis is the death of tissue (destruction of cells) accompanying some types of infection. It can be caused by microbes (germs). It happens in cases of tuberculosis, syphilis, some liver disease, etc. Gangrene is a form of necrosis (living tissue is deprived of blood irrigation/oxygen, and cells die).
This probably doesn't make you feel better at all and it doesn't bring your dear friend back. But as you hadn't had any hint of an answer to your question, I thought you might still want to read this. I don't know it this is what your vet meant, or what it was caused by, ar how it occurs in sugar gliders if it does.
I'm very new with gliders and I only have a vague idea of how sad you must be. I'm sorry and I hope this helps a bit. You have my sympathy.
