Subject: Breeding Question....... (long)

HI Everyone,
I had posted here before back in febuary. I had bought a pair of gliders that were 9 months old from an individual breeder that had quite a few of them. The breeder seemed loving and said that they had put this particular pair aside as breeders. They explained to me that they had not been held very much because of them being a breeder pair. (I didn't think it really mattered if you held them or not they would still breed right?). So they aren't tame. Anyhow, along the way one of them mentioned that they had a breeder pair before that never would make babies. I kinda blew it off. Well now I have had this pair (and I love them) for four going on five months now and even though I have seen them mate nothing has come of it. I have bonded pretty well with them for the time I have had them. They eat out of my hand and will let me do pretty much what I want inside the cage. I have even seen them come out during the day and check things out. I just haven't been able to hold them yet. They seem pretty comfortable with the whole family. I feed them plenty of fruits and veggies and they love the meal worms, nuts, and goodies given them. Which reminds me..... they don't seem to like glideraide much can I put it in something to trick them to eat it? My vet says as long as I am feeding them the way I do no additional vitamins etc is needed. Is this true? He is a reputable exotic vet here in the New Orleans area. Also, They are in my bedroom away from most traffic but still enjoy some TV. I read somewhere where they start to breed around the 9-12 month area. They are now just over a year old. When should I start to really worry about them not having babies? I would really like to expand the family.
