Hi Paul. In addition to Kim's suggestions, I suggest you take a good look at where he/she houses the gliders (what is their environment like). The cage can tell you a whole lot about how they are treated -- they should have ample space, toys, branches and things to climb on, it should look and smell reasonably clean, etc. Also how many breeding pairs does he/she have (if they're breeding 20 pairs, they're probably not handling them much individually). Also, at what age do they generally sell them (are they pulling them early to make a buck, or allowing them to become weaned on their own). Also, ask about their glider's behavior -- they should be able to tell you about the different personalities -- if they can't, they are probably not spending much time with them. I also suggest you ask what vet they use, and then give the vet a call and see what he/she has to say about the breeder and the animals. Finally, be wary if they don't ask YOU any questions. A breeder who cares about their gliders will care about the prospective owner's knowledge and ability to care for their babies. Good luck in your search, and best wishes!
