Okay Sam ... 1. Like any pet the more time you can spend with them the better it is for you and the pet. You might get a glider that bonds easily or you might get one that could take a long time. They all have very different personalties just like we do. 2. They should not have any contact with the dog. If you're asking about just having a dog in the house, there shouldn't be any problem unless the dog "bothers" the cage during the day. As you know, gliders sleep during the day and PLAY pretty much all night. 3. There is not way to estimate the vet bills. Call and find a vet who handles exotics and ask about well check-ups, the cost, how often. If you have sickness or injury related vet visits, then these could be very expensive or not. 4. Any large pet store will carry cages in various shapes and sizes. Do the research on cages and shop around. You can usually get one like at Petsmart starting at about $60. 5. Check your local paper classified adds under Pets/Animal section. Texas has alot of breeders and these are preferred by this board over pet stores every day of the week. You may also be able to find a breeder on line. DO THE RESEARCH SO YOU KNOW WHAT QUESTIONS TO ASK BEFORE YOU CONTACT A POTENTIAL SELLER. You're welcome. KarenE
