Have you ever even been around a glider and owner....I have had dogs and cats..and my boyfriend has ferrets that I am around a lot. My gliders love me much more than any of those animals. My female loves people much more than any glider. My gliders get jealous of each other because they want my attention.
They do not get keept in small cages. In fact they get to roam in glider proof rooms...in the wild the colonies have a huge space..which basicly means that the dominant gliders can roam..but the other gliders ahve to protect themseleves. Do you think they just spend all theit lives ahving fun in the wild? They don't! None of out gliders are wild caught...except possibly a very small ammount. They are not being ripped from the wild or from their mothers. My gliders love me dearly, and I love them. they get everythign they want...they get handfed from me..get a freee taxi ride all over the place...have huge spaces to climb and glide in...and my gliders never have to worry about starving..being eaten..being attackted. They are spoiled to death and they love it! They would never have it any other way! They are far from extinct and they dearly loved animals...as bourbon says they chose us..we don't chose them. You need to visit a family with gldiers and see jsut how much gliders love their people...then you try ripping them from their humans and see how happy they are.
