I applaud you for researching, I know you have by your questions and responses to those questions. No you didn't ask too many questions they are very good questions on controversial issues.. As far as the smell, yes keeping the cage clean will keep down the smell some, but if you get a male and he is maturing or has a female around he will mark his territory and leave his scent. when you first get a glider it MAY skunk you, till it feels comfortable. Sometimes smell can't be helpped; however; If you get a male and get him neutered it will stop a lot of the smell with him. brown/grey there has been a lot of controversy regarding the color and tameability of the these gliders. The brown one are said to be "wild caught" and haven't had a chance to adapt to these surroundings. The brown supposably is where the fur has been stained by tree sap and bark, that after a while they are grey. The brown is said to be harder to bond with and to tame. But I know some people that have brown ones and they don't notice a difference. Every glider has it's own personality, and some gliders are harder to tame than others, it doesn't matter if they are male, female, grey or brown. (This is only my opinion). I have grey ones and one of mine you would swear was wild caught. :) The tempertures are another controversial subject. Some say the temps of their native land is warmer than ours but as you may have already read, they cannot handle the extremes in temps. Many of the gliders that people were having problems with dehydration, were from or in Texas during this heat wave. I honestly believe that if you treat your glider as you would a newborn infant that you will be okay, In the summer you wouldn't leave a glider in the hot sun or where it couldn't get air of somesort, In the winter just think what temps would be comfortable for an infant? I always say that gliders have the attention needs of a newborn infant with the personality of a teenager. It is a common sense thing. Be sure their pouch is fleece lined in the winter and that they have at least something warm to cuddle with. GOOD LUCK and thank you from all of us..
