I'm addressing the issue here, to get feed back. If some breeders would have the males nuetered before finding a new home then that would help too. I believe their should be only a few Responiable breeders in each state, and that their be a nueter policey for the males. I think that if they make it a lot of touble to get permits and liceances then that will weed out certains people from getting them.
I'm just tired of seeing people say they've done the research and then say they don't have enough time....etc..

: I really just dont see any other way it can be stopped.
: I mean I had a great concern as well. Eversince i can remember, i love animals of all kinds and i wanted to be a vet so i could help them. Ive seen alot of animals that have been abused and mistreated. In fact about a month ago Dateline did a special about dog breeders and it horrified me to pieces. I couldnt believe it and they actually went and interviewed the peopel at Petland .. the same exact store that was right around the corner from me!!! It scares me knowing my glider came from one of those places because she was purchased at the same exact store that those dogs came from. The dogs had diseases, werent pure breeds, had all kinds of disorders, they would keep them 10 in a little cage and even fighting ones, they stayed out in the hot sweltering heat all day long, and did nothing but breed. One even had a collar that had litereally GROWN into his neck because noone ever loosened it when he grew..
: I am terribly afraid to be one of those kinds of people who mistreat their pets. Thats why I was thinking of getting rid of my glider. I just dont want anyone to hurt her ever. Even though I trust my roommate with her I guess im just the type to be very insecure about what i do. But it has to go beyond the board, a lot of people who post here feel the same as you, that breeding in itself isnt a bad thing, and can even be good, but only when done responsibly. Maybe there should be more organizations that rescue gliders. Or maybe a very well known one where people all over the world can participate. But posting it ona message board isnt going to stop it. Even the people who do get addressed will just get mad and not listen.
