How is it know that she is back to par? These little people can hide their symptoms very well & can die of stress quite easily. She needs time to adjust to her new diet & new situation before getting a new mate. I feel she needs to be watched closely, & then decide after the joeys are OOP. I personally would neuter the male before putting him in with her, as she has suffered enough & may never totally recover. : Exactly, I think it would be moronic to put male in with female, him being still intact and possibly impregnating her while still with joeys. Even after she's done with these joeys(by death or living) why should she be bred again in even the near future? The joeys would prob not make it between all the variables, but WHY should the females health have to be risked again? I think a simple solution would be get him neutered and then put them together to make them both happy! I dunno, this just gets me. Unless there was some reason this male cannot be neutered and is seriously depressed I wouldnt put him in there to possibly risk taxing the females health.
