that thought occurred to me many times!!!! i thought about saying it was in an accident and giving it to a glider rescue (my male attacked it through the cage one night and its hamster ball another night,I don't have the time to divide between two sets of playgrounds). the boy (13 and taller than me, about 5' 6") got it after his dad died last year, then he got two rats (now 18) and a hamster and a dog.
