Well, let me make this short and sweet..
Because its kind of a long story, but my fiance already had
her when i met him and he had already owned her for a couple of months. She cost him 300 bucks at petland i believe and they told him to feed her hamsterfood and fruits and veggies and cheese?!! So, since he is so stupid and selfish, he fed her applesauce for like months, and she lived in a nice food and a half tall birdcage with 2 bowls, a little hamster wheel, and a bird breeder to sleep in. (ew)
So, since I am going to school to be a vet, I love animals. I asked him what are u supose to feed her.. his reply "oh she will eat anything blahblah" im ilke .. chris, u cant just feed her anything. every animals needs certain vitamins and stuff to live. And hes like yea she eats fruit.
Then I notice, he stops spending as much time with her and she gets really violent in her cage. She crabs alot, she tore up her nest and she smelled horrible too. So.. again i am like ok. Chris, I know its YOUR pet but you should realy think about giving her up to a better home. You obviously cane take care of her. And of course, again he denies it and says shes fine. blahblah.. So I am by then really sick adn tired of his crap and I got on the net.. hence finding this page among others.. Theyve helped soo soo much and I understand her much more now. I took over care of her and she has bonded to me now, even more than Chris who had her for 6 months and shes only been with me for 4 or 5. I love her and now i have her eating ledbeaters and i got her a huge 4 foot cage to run around in with vines, and I let her out to play alot and to ride in my shirt with me =) (shes ni my pocket sleeping right now) Im so glad that I found this page because we didnt know anythign about her before.
n fact, when I first saw her and asked what she was... his reply was not sugar glider. It was Australian flying squirrel. If anyone called her a rodent he would say, she is a marsupial not a rodent! yet, i had to tell him the definition of marsupial not to long ago LOL..
From now on. I will be the one making animal relation decisions in this relationship.
Thanks thats all !
(sorry its so long)
