When Sheila first posted her ad, the moderators all had a discussion regarding whether or not it was considered direct advertising, we had this discussion on the board, as so we could get others opinions on it as well. That thread was also deleted. here is a copy of the email I sent to Shelia regarding this type of post..

We are in a position here, I want to be able to post your site,
but without the direct advertising, There is nothing wrong with
the site url, but there are issues where we are afraid that the

by doing the direct advertising it doesn't leave those options
open..
now what can we do to see they get to your site? hmmmm....
okay..
1. post your url as a good site.. no advertising in it...
2 make the links for your sales areas in a great place on your
page so it jumps out at them...
3. IF someone comes in and asks like where can I get this or
that
at? you can link your url at that time as well.
We are not the only one that has this policy, acme (petsmart,
sugarglider.net etc..) all these are Major message bases that
want to avoid the boards filling up with sales ads..
there are several classified messages bases as well.. you have
claras, on sg.net, you have the glider trading post. acme also
has a classified section.. the link for the trading post is...

that page is purged every 30 days, that page was setup and
designed for sales regarding Gliders and supplies.. you can
post
your ad there..
The site on sugarglider.net message base (classified) also is
stricly glider related as well..
Please work with me on this, I am doing the best I can to try

work with you...

this is not the opportunity to turn this thread into a bashing Match, as it will be deleted if not able to be discussed in a responsible fashion. After all we all are here for the gliders, we have lots of users that have items to sell, and in order to keep this primaryily an informational base, we also must set some guidelines.There are options here. Lets work together to find a way to make this fair for all users..
