: May I be so bold to ask why you want a sugarglider? I suggest you researched them and read all the past postings? the bonding is covered pretty extensively. If you want a glider to bond with, and you teach it to bond with a friend what is going to happen after a couple months with just that friend. The glider will get a tighter bond with your friend and you may break it's heart if you take it away from your friend. Bonding with a glider is a serious matter. You have to look at a glider as being and infant child, it has attention needs. If you give that glider lots of love and attention then "dump it" with a friend for a couple of months, you may get back a very different glider. This is my opinion only.. But I personally think that unless you make a 15 year commitment to that glider, you may need to wait awhile till you can. I know you are asking for advice, but the best advice I can give is to please wait untill you are ready for that kind of commitment. Maybe right now you are not able but you have plenty of time. Spend that time reading everything you can not only about gliders but what each person has written about theirs.. read the archives from the beginning read each response. Again this is only my opinion..

Hi again, and thanks for answering. I guess I didn't explain my situation clearly enough. I am 15 years old and the reason I go to California every summer is because I have to; my whole family goes and I can't just stay home by myself for two months. So I wouldn't just "dump it" at a friend's house and take off for California to have a fun time.
I really want a sugar glider because they look like great pets. But before I get one (if I do get one) I have to look ahead. Going to California every summer poses a problem. I am trying to find a solution to the problem, and thats why I asked that question. I thought that maybe it would be a solution, but I guess it isn't. So, unless I do find a solution that will be good for the sugar glider, I guess I can't get one. That will be extremely disappointing, so if you or anyone else has any ideas, I would appreciate it.

Thanks for your opinion, it helped alot. Sorry for the dumb question.

Melody
