I'm not trying to start any 'flames', I just feel the need to voice my opinion.

I think that in some ways, this is a good thing. It's informing people about an amazing little creature, that they probably never heard of before. BUT, I'm just afraid that some teens will read this, and without researching, go out and get one. True, it does state that they need tons of care, but still.....Being a teenager myself, I think about how I felt when I first heard of these little guys. I just HAD to have one. But I finally decided that the best thing for me, and the animal!, to do, would be to wait. Now I've been constantly reading articles, books, etc. about them, and maybe sometime in the future, I'll decide I'm ready to get one.

Anyway, enough about me;) MY POINT IS, I KNOW some teens don't think the way I do, and WOULD rush out and get one. And I feel horrible just thinking about the mistreatment some of these gliders are getting because of this. Just a few weeks ago, i found out that my uncle had gotten one. One of his children had to bring in a pet to school for a week, as part of a project. So, they went out and got a sugar glider, without knowing ANYTHING about it. So they bring it home, and know NOTHING about it. I mean, they're feeding it Fruit Loops for God's sake! Now my uncles (TEEN) childen have totally lost interest, and never pay attention to it. So, I sent them a care sheet yesterday, telling them some of the basics. Which was REALLY hard, because I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to tell them how to raise and take care of their animals. Even though, in a way, I AM.

Geeze, listen to me babble. I'll shut up now. :)
