Out of the three reference books I have on gliders, that book is the WORST!! I couldn't believe what I was reading. I had very little information for me, which was fustrating, since at the time my little guys were almost 4 weeks old and I needed a good reference book. Caroline McPhereson has a nice book though and I have used that from time to time.

: : jumping to conclutions(sp) but the book by Barrons "sugar gliders" a guid to understanding sugar gliders behavior. Is a collection from breeders and vets and they say their is little to no risk introducing a new glider to a colony if done properly

: Gene,
: Dear. People are not jumping to conclusions. This is knowledge from HAND ON EXPERIENCE.
: The man who wrote that book didn't know diddly squat. If you notice the photos they are all the same glider throughout the book. He also contracts himself continually.
: I can speak from personal experience as can others. It is not advisable to introduce a single female (especially a young one) to an established breeding pair.
: I hear your arguements - but you must understand that those who truly love gliders - think that risking a life is too high a price to SEE if it will work.

: Parts of every sugar glider book ever written are now out of date.
: As we continue to learn and share - we change the very information that was believed and written previously.

: When it comes to risking the life of a precious glider (who counts on us to keep it safe) tempers will always surface.
